Essay About Animals In Zoos And Circuses

  • This is physically abusing the animal.

The animal need a lot of training and it isn't easy, what is the animal attacks someone who is responsible for the animals action?

Also you are not keeping them in free space its to crowded for them to move. You are whipping them because of them not listening to you and that's hurting them and no one likes getting hurt physically

  • DONT GO TO CIRCUSES

From 1994 to 2005 at least 31 elephants have died. I think that seeing people perform their tricks is just fine.

#1. Animals born in circuses are NEVER released back into the wild.
#2. Trainers use whips, bull hooks, clubs, and electric prods on the animal would you like to be treated that way?
#3. Animals spend about 11 months a year traveling almost half a year. They spend thousands of countless hours traveling over long distances, being forced to lie or stand in their own waste
#4. In the wild animals live freely and walk or run many miles for food, in the circus they are given unfresh food instead of being able to hunt and are being forced to spend hours being trapped in limited space instead of being able to roam freely.
#5. If an animal is endangered, you want to protect it, so having these animals here cant help it grow of reproduce.

  • This is wrong so wrong no way

Animals were meant to live I the wild not circus tents. All I can say is how would you feel if you we're taken out of your home and put in a cage to learn party tricks? No you wouldn't would you you'd be taken away from your family, your home, your life, your everything.
Animals should no way be used in circuses!

  • Animals are Innocent

We should not take their freedom, they have life they have to choose how they want to live. We should not force any animals to do something because in the process we humans torture them which is against the nature. We should not entertain people by torturing speechless animals. Please please do not encourage CIRCUS.

  • Animals are not clowns!

I personally believe, that animals are meant to be wild and free. I do not agree with animals being in Circuses, because that is not their nature nor their habitat, so it is like having them in prison.

I am pretty sure that they are abused physical and emotionally, I truly believe that animals do feel more than we actually want to recognize.

Allowing animals to perform in circuses, commonly cause that those animals act against their own trainers, in other cases, hurting innocent people around them.

This is something we can avoid, letting the animals to be at their own habitat, and having people with specials skills who can entertain us at circuses.

  • No circus animals!

Circus animals are treated cruelly & it should not be allowed to continue. I will never support or encourage others to attend a circus. Why don't animal activists stop this. Why don't authorities try stopping this attrocity. It's disgusting. Makes me sick to know how these precious animals are treated.

  • Not as long lifetime

Animals kept in captivity (like a circus) for their entire life, don't live for as long as a wild animal. For example, a wild elephant has an average lifetime of 70 years. A captive elephant has an average lifetime of 14 years! Please do not encourage animals in the circus!

  • 1. Abuse 2. Cruelty 3. Poor living

To force animals to perform, circus trainers abuse them with whips, tight collars, muzzles, electric prods, bullhooks (heavy batons with a sharp steel hook on one end), and other painful tools of the circus trade. Video footage of animal training sessions shows that elephants are beaten with bullhooks and shocked with electric prods.

  • Animals In Entertainment Essay

The world is constantly trying to invent and find new forms of entertainment. This being said, people often find pleasure in watching animals. When thinking about how animals are used in the entertainment industry, it seems that in most cases they are being mistreated. Owners of such animals that are neglected lack the care and knowledge to provide for them. This is a social issue because not only do we use animals for our own enjoyment, but we uproot them from their natural habitats and take them away from their families.
    Identifying the Problem:
The problem to identify at hand is obvious; it’s the mistreatment of animals being used in the entertainment industry. Animals are ripped away from their natural habitats or bred in captivity to provide us humans with sources of entertainment. The article “Ten Fast Facts About Animals In Entertainment” explains that the majority of captivity-bred animals will not be returned to the wild. In fact when a facility breeds too many animals they are sometimes sold to laboratories, traveling shows, canned hunting facilities, or to private individuals (“Ten Fast Facts”). Private individuals, who inquire about wild animals, almost always lack the proper caregiving skills, and this leads to animals being neglected. When being bred in captivity, animals are oblivious to their natural habitats and how to socially interact with their species.
The article “Animals Used as Entertainment” lists rodeos, circuses, bullfighting, horse racing, cockfighting, dog fighting, and zoos as examples of the many ways animals are used in entertainment. Circuses and zoos are the two most relevant forms of animal mistreatment. Both of these are sources of entertainment for children and adults. Zoos declare that they are used for mostly educational purposes and preserving various species, but the reality is that they fall short on both (“Animals Used”). Visitors at zoos typically spend only a few minutes at each cage before moving on to the next one. The only information being told about the animals is their name, diet, and natural location on a plaque. This is a prime example of how zoos are used more for entertainment, and not education. While zoos look like they treat their animals with great care, their enclosures are generally too small, and people cannot observe their normal behavior (“Animals Used”). The animals that live at zoos may seem fine on the outside, but a closer look can give insight on how the animals truly are neglected.
Circuses do not typically stay in one location for long periods of times, meaning that all of the animals must be crated, chained, and caged to travel. The standard form of training in circuses is punishment. Trainers use this form of training to break the animals’ spirit and make them fearful enough to listen better (“Animals Used”). The forms of punishment are appalling to even think about, let alone read in detail. Some animals are drugged to make them “manageable.” Animals who do not obey...
